Green Security Onboarding - Level 2A & 3 Contractors
Beginning Monday, June 1 we will be transitioning to Green Security for credentialing of Level 2A contractors that provide essential support services, including housekeeping, maintenance, food services, parking, construction, equipment installation, and others, and do not require access to sterile areas.
Contractors requiring access to UConn Health facilities must be registered and maintain approved credential status and obtain a UConn Health ID badge from UConn Health Administrative Support Services.
Green Security has been managing the credentialing of Level 3 clinical contractors, who require access to sterile procedure areas in the OR Surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, Interventional Radiology, and the UConn Health Surgery Center. This process includes conducting background checks, verifying immunizations, and ensuring the completion of necessary training.
Dept. Hiring Manager/Host Responsibilities
- Contracted companies must register with Green Security prior to submitting registrations for individuals – by phone at 866-750-3373 or by email at support@gogreensecurity.com.
- Contractor is identified for hire.
- The dept. hiring manager/host provides contractor with the announcement letter and link to Green Security registration https://grn.ac/uchc-vendors (please allow 7-10 business days for processing). The contractor is responsible for completing all required credentials for approval.
- Once the individual has cleared Green Security credentialing:
- The individual will notify their department hiring manager/host that they have completed credentialing.
- The dept. hiring manager/host will advise the individual of their start date and schedule, and to contact Administrative Services at parking.transportation@uchc.edu or by phone at 860-679-4248 to make an appointment to receive their ID badge and parking permit.
- The dept. hiring manager/host will submit a UAR for network access, UCHC email, building access, etc. (as required for the position).
- Termination / Transfer / Promotion
- The dept. hiring manager/host must submit a UAR to remove or change the ID badge, network access, email, building access etc. in the event of termination, transfer or promotion. If a UAR was not required for the individual, you must request to remove or change the ID badge and building access by notifying buildingaccess@uchc.edu.
- The dept. hiring manager/host must collect the contractor’s UConn Health ID badge and parking permit and return the items to Administrative Support Services via interoffice mail (MC8230) and/or at our drop boxes located at ASB Building 3rd floor- room D3500 and Main Building Ground level- room LG057.
Individual Background Requests (excluding Green Security contractors/vendors)
When requesting a background, send information to backgrounds@uchc.edu and make sure the subject line has the following:
- Name of person whose background is being requested.
- Name of UConn Health department and person hosting.
- Name of company (If contractor).
Example: Subject: John Smith/Administrative Support Services/Cross Country
Make sure you attach the background information sheet completed (including Social Security Number).
Also, provide the Beginning date and end date of the assignment.
Read below regarding payment. Backgrounds cannot be processed until payment is received.
Groups of Two or More Background Requests
When requesting more than one background, send information to backgrounds@uchc.edu and make sure the subject line has the following:
- Name of Group/Project whose backgrounds are being requested.
- Name of UConn Health department and person hosting
- Name of company (if contractor)
Example: Subject: GME Medical Residents/Graduate Medical Education
Example: Subject: Garage 2 Roof Project/Campus Planning/Mattern Construction
Make sure you attach the background information sheet completed (including Social Security Number)
Also, provide a complete list of full names in the group along with the beginning date and end date of the assignment.

International Background Requests
When requesting an international background, send information to backgrounds@uchc.edu and make sure the subject line has the following:
- Name of person whose background is being requested.
- Type the word “International.”
- Name of the UConn Health department and person hosting.
Example: Subject: John Smith – “International” Neurology Department
Make sure you attach the background information sheet completed (including Social Security Number).
Along with the completed international packet and a copy of your passport.
Please include the beginning date and end date of the assignment.
