Animal Procurement Policy and Procedure

All animals must be procured through CCM business office, 860-679-2731. The PI must place the order through InfoEd eRA using their approved protocol number and animal specifics (weight, age, sex, strain, etc.). The CCM approves and processes the order placed through InfoEd eRA.

Deadlines: The deadline for ordering from commercial vendors through the CCM office is Wednesday at 2:01 p.m. for animals to be delivered the following week.

The scheduled shipment of research animals from the approved vendors are as follows:

• Charles River Laboratories – Tuesday and Thursday
• Envigo Rodents –  Tuesday
• Envigo Rabbits - Thursday
• Jackson Laboratory – Wednesday
• Taconic Biosciences – Thursday

All non-commercial vendors are considered as Import/Export and are processed by Veterinary Services.
